Acton, Reid and Campbell
West of Civic, Acton is home to the national university's campus and the NewActon precinct of apartments, a boutique hotel, a cinema and small bars, with the lake shore and its walking paths just beyond. Reid, to the east, is a small heritage suburb of old cottages, and Campbell, at the foot of Mount Ainslie, faces the War Memorial at the top of Anzac Parade.
These suburbs combine quiet streets with easy access to the city, and they suit discreet bookings. Canberra escorts who come to Acton often mention the precinct's bars and the lakeside walk, and many host or visit in apartments a few minutes from Civic.
The city centre is a short walk from Acton and Reid, and buses run past the university and along Limestone Avenue. The lakeside path is lovely on a spring evening before a date, when the blossom is out along the shore.
