Mawson Lakes, Pooraka and Parafield
About twelve kilometres north of the city, Mawson Lakes is a planned suburb built around a series of lakes, with a university campus, a technology park and a compact town centre of cafes and apartments. Pooraka next door is home to the city's wholesale produce market, and Parafield is known for its airfield, where light aircraft and pilot trainees take off over the northern suburbs.
Mawson Lakes has more apartments than most of the north, and that shows in the listings: some Adelaide escorts work in-calls from the newer buildings near the town centre, and others travel from here to the city or to Salisbury and Elizabeth. Students, shift workers and business visitors at the technology park all keep the area busy at odd hours.
The Gawler train line stops at Mawson Interchange, and the drive into the CBD along Main North Road or the Port Wakefield Road takes about twenty minutes outside peak hour.
