Sydney Olympic Park, Newington and Silverwater
The site of the 2000 Games is now a suburb in its own right. Sydney Olympic Park holds the main stadium, the indoor arena, the aquatic and athletic centres and the showground where the Royal Easter Show is held each autumn, along with several hotels, offices and a growing cluster of apartment towers. Newington, next door, was built as the athletes' village and became a residential suburb after the Games, and Silverwater to the south is mostly warehouses and factories.
The hotels inside the park are popular out-call addresses on event nights and during conferences and exhibitions. A rail loop from Lidcombe serves the park's station, with extra trains on big days, and ferries stop at the wharf on Homebush Bay. On quiet weeknights the precinct is almost empty, which makes for easy parking and very private visits.
Event days are another story, when crowds fill the plazas and roads close around the stadium. Sydney escorts based in Rhodes, Wentworth Point and Newington are close enough to walk over, so they are often the easiest choice when traffic is at its worst.
