Heidelberg West, Bellfield and Heidelberg Heights
West of Heidelberg's shopping centre, the suburbs have an unusual history: Heidelberg West housed the athletes' village for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and many of its modest brick homes date from that time. Heidelberg Heights and Bellfield are quiet residential suburbs on the rise between Heidelberg and the Darebin Creek, whose parklands and trail mark the western edge of the area.
This is a working, down-to-earth part of the north-east, with the old repatriation hospital on its southern side. Melbourne escorts who live around Heidelberg and Preston cover these streets for out-calls, and in-calls nearby are usually in units or townhouses with simple parking. Daytime bookings are as easy to arrange here as evening ones.
Buses connect the area with Heidelberg station on the Hurstbridge line and with Preston to the west. The Darebin Creek trail runs south towards Alphington and the Yarra, a pleasant walk or ride on a fine day.
