Lilydale and Mount Evelyn
Lilydale marks the edge of the suburbs and the start of the Yarra Ranges. It is a country-town centre with a main street, a lake park popular for walks and picnics, and the end of the Lilydale railway line. From here the old railway route has become a rail trail that heads east through Mount Evelyn, a hilly, leafy township among the trees, towards Warburton and the mountains.
