St Kilda, St Kilda East, Balaclava and Elwood
St Kilda is Melbourne's seaside playground. Fitzroy Street has bars and backpacker hotels, Acland Street is famous for its cake shops, Luna Park's grinning entrance faces the bay, and a colony of little penguins lives on the breakwater at the end of the pier. Balaclava and St Kilda East, inland, centre on Carlisle Street and its cafes, while Elwood is a quieter beach suburb of Art Deco flats and leafy streets.
St Kilda has a long history as the city's late-night district, and it remains one of the busiest areas for Melbourne escorts. Hotel visits on the foreshore are popular in summer, and the area's many apartments make in-calls easy to find within a short walk of the beach.
Trams run from the city to St Kilda along St Kilda Road and through Albert Park, about twenty minutes from Flinders Street. On warm weekends the foreshore is crowded and parking is scarce, so an in-call or a hotel nearby is the simplest choice.
