South of the parklands the city gives way to some of Adelaide's most established suburbs. Parkside and Unley are streets of stone cottages and tidy villas, with King William Road and Unley Road as the local shopping strips. Further south and east, Mitcham sits at the foot of the hills, and Glen Osmond marks the start of the climb up the freeway towards the Adelaide Hills.
