Yagoona, Bass Hill and Georges Hall
West of Bankstown, the Hume Highway runs straight through Yagoona and Bass Hill, lined with car yards, takeaways and shopping plazas. Yagoona has its own station and a mix of brick houses and unit blocks, while Bass Hill sits around a busy junction on the highway. Georges Hall lies to the south, a quieter, greener suburb that reaches the Georges River and borders Bankstown Airport, where light aircraft and helicopters come and go during the day.
These are mostly suburbs of houses, so out-calls are the usual arrangement, with in-calls more common in Bankstown's apartment towers a few minutes east. Companions coming from Bankstown, Liverpool or Fairfield all reach the area easily along the highway.
