Glenorchy, Derwent Park and Old Beach
Glenorchy is the centre of Hobart's northern suburbs, with a shopping precinct, the showgrounds and the sports stadium nearby. Derwent Park, between Glenorchy and Moonah, is mostly light industry along the river, and the famous museum sits on its peninsula at Berriedale just to the north. Across the Bowen Bridge, Old Beach is a growing suburb on the eastern bank.
The north is home to many of the city's residents, and some Hobart escorts live here and host in houses with off-street parking. Most will travel into the city or out to the museum precinct for out-calls, and touring companions sometimes stay in the northern suburbs for quieter surroundings.
The Brooker Highway runs from Glenorchy to the city in about fifteen minutes, and buses are frequent along Main Road. The ferry from the waterfront to the museum is a pleasant afternoon before an evening booking.
