Oatley, Penshurst and Hurstville Grove
Along the Illawarra line south of Hurstville, the stations come in quick succession. Allawah and Penshurst are suburbs of brick houses and unit blocks close to Hurstville's centre, with Penshurst's shopping street beside its station. Oatley, further south, is greener and hillier, with a village of shops and the bushland and river beaches of Oatley Park. Hurstville Grove sits on the water at Oatley Bay.
Penshurst and Allawah offer some in-calls in apartments a short walk from their stations, and Hurstville's busy centre is right next door. Oatley and Hurstville Grove are almost entirely houses, so out-calls are more usual there, and companions who drive will find parking easy.
