Rydalmere and Ermington
East of Parramatta, the north bank of the river is lined by two working suburbs. Rydalmere mixes light industry and offices with streets of houses, and has both a ferry wharf on the river and a stop on the Parramatta Light Rail. Ermington, further east, is mostly residential, with parks along the river and Victoria Road along its northern edge.
Victoria Road links both suburbs with Parramatta in one direction and Ryde and the city in the other, and buses run along it frequently. Most bookings are out-calls to houses and townhouses, with a few in-calls in the newer apartment blocks. Companions based in Parramatta are only a short drive away, as are those in West Ryde and Carlingford.
The industrial streets empty out after work, so an evening visit is quiet and parking is rarely a problem. The river ferry is a slow but pleasant way to reach the area from the city on a fine afternoon, though the timetable thins out in the evening.
