Bronte, Tamarama and Clovelly
Between the big names of Bondi and Coogee lie three smaller beaches, each with its own character. Tamarama is a short, steep-sided cove that fills with sunbathers in summer, Bronte has a wide park with barbecues and a rock pool at its southern end, and Clovelly is a long, narrow inlet whose calm water draws swimmers and snorkellers all year. The cliff-top walk links all three.
No train reaches this part of the coast. Buses run from Bondi Junction and the city, and parking near the sand disappears early on warm weekends. Companions who live along the coast often offer in-calls from apartments a few streets back from the beach, and out-calls tend to be to homes and holiday rentals in the area or nearby Waverley and Randwick.
