Honeysuckle, Wickham and Newcastle West
Along the harbour west of the centre, the old wharves at Honeysuckle have become a foreshore of restaurants, bars and apartment blocks looking across the water to the port. Newcastle West has the main transport interchange and a growing cluster of offices and hotels, and Wickham, beyond it, mixes old workers' cottages with converted warehouses and new towers.
This is the busiest part of the city for hotel visits, with business travellers midweek and visitors on weekends. Newcastle escorts who live in the newer apartments here often host in-calls a short walk from the harbour, and out-calls to the foreshore hotels are quick to arrange.
Trains from Sydney and the Hunter end at the interchange, and the light rail starts there for the trip along the harbour. Parking is easier here in the evening than in the East End.
